On November 14, 2012, a presentation of the "Contemporary International Law - Materials and Cases" resource book was held at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavonic University. The action aimed at sharing legal education resources and experience by faculty members and students in Kyrgyzstan. The book had been developed and published by the faculty members and students of the three higher educational establishments of Kyrgyzstan - the American University of Central Asia, the Kyrgyz State Law Academy and the Kyrgyz National University. One of the goals of the project was to disseminate the results of this work among all leading universities in Kyrgyzstan, KRSU counterparts coming one of the first on the list.
Invited to the event were the faculty and students of the Department of International Law, Faculty of Law and the Faculty of International Relations of the KRSU, who are exactly the target audience this resource book was primarily created for.
Making his speech at the presentation, President of the Fulbright Alumni Association of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Myrzalimov expressed his hope that his colleagues from the KRSU would take active participation in such types of projects. According to Professor B.I. Borubashev, Head of the Department of International Law, this book would become a good aid in preparing new scientific papers both for master degree candidates and postgraduates from among their staff. "I found a lot of interesting things for myself, and, of course, will use this book when reading my lectures on the theory of international relations" - noted with satisfaction Professor Dolbaev, Doctor of Sciences and Head of the Department of International Relations.
Compilers of the resource book noted that significant contribution to this project was made by students of the participating universities. Explanations were provided to the faculty as per effectively use of the book as a supplementary teaching tool. Vast practical importance of the resource book was also mentioned, particularly that it can be used as a reference by legal practitioners and policy makers in Kyrgyzstan.
After a brief discussion that involved KRSU students, faculty and compilers of the resource book, AUCA representatives Elida Nogoibaeva, Kanykei Kasybekova and Kamila Mateeva presented the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavonic University with 30 copies of the book in Russian and English. The participants came to an agreement that, following completion of the book's translation into Kyrgyz, this language version of the book will also become available for faculty members and students of KRSU.
