Get engaged with the Internet Society’s Kyrgyzstan Chapter to help bring knowledge, games, and educational tools to your own home community or village school using the cutting-edge Ilimbox technological device. ISOC KG staff will teach you about internet infrastructure and challenges in remote areas of the Kyrgyz Republic, show you how to use the Ilimbox to bring knowledge to such remote areas, and give you fundraising tips to purchase these devices to your own former high school. Willing participants can then partner with ISOC KG to raise $100 to purchase a Ilimbox for their community, prepare the device for use, and bring it back to their former schools.
This activity advances the UN Sustainable Development Goals #4 and #9. You can learn more about each of these below.
The activity will be held in English.
Registration for the Ashar Day of Engagement 2019 is now closed. We look forward to engaging with you next year!
About the organization leading this session:
ISOC KG was founded in 2015 to make the internet a resource to enrich people's lives, a secure and trustworthy data source, and a force for the public good. Their work has extended the internet and knowledge resources into previously un-served, remote communities and made it a more affordable tool for users across Kyrgyzstan. You can learn more about their work at their website: https://isoc.kg/
