On 23 May 2012 CASI hosted a workshop “Kyrgyzstan and Europe: A Relationship Built on Securing Development?” organized by the Europe-Central Asia Monitoring programme (EUCAM) of FRIDE (Brussels/Madrid) and the Karelian Institute (Joensuu, Finland)
The seminar brought together some distinguished experts from Europe and Central Asia to discuss Europe-Kyrgyzstan relations in the light of the EU review of the EU-Central Asia Strategy. The second part of the workshop focused on migration and its demographic, economic and political implications in Kyrgyzstan. The last session was devoted to new security challenges in Kyrgyzstan and international responses to them.
