The Central Asian Studies Institute of AUCA is calling for research grant applications under its Central Asia Research Initiative. This program is intended to support original research that will generate new empirical knowledge and contribute to a better understanding of Central Asia.  In this round CASI will consider projects with the budget up to 10,000 USD each. The proposals will be evaluated by a special board consisting of the members of the CASI International Advisory Board. Deadline for applications is March 5, 2012.

On January 31, 2012, the newly formed Tian Shan Policy Center and the Central Asian Studies Institute, both under the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) held their first joint conference

AUCA is delighted to announce the start of recruitment for the first class of students at the New Generation Academy (NGA)

Presentation of the recorded performance of Manas Epic by a famous manaschy S. Karalaev is held in AUCA on February, 1 at 16.00, CH-1 by "Kyrgyz language" program. Guests of the event are the writer Mar Baidhziev, musicologist Balbay Alagushev and a little manaschy Umet. All interested are welcome to join!
