Dr. Ludmila Konstants is an Associate Professor in the Economics department at the American University of Central Asia. She received her Ph.D. in Economics awarded by the National Supreme Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic. She defended her dissertation at the Scientific Committee of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic (1995, Kyrgyzstan). A Ph.D. credential is issued by World Educational Service (WES) New York as an international scientific degree in Economics (#540719, May 5, 2006) when the “Senior Scholar in Economic Theory” scientific title is awarded by the National Supreme Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic (Certificate AIK#000148, Protocol 2C-2/14, March 2, 2000). The theme of the defended dissertation is “Transformation of Property Rights and Management in the Kyrgyz Republic within the Transition to Market Economy.” She holds a specialized degree in Economics with honors from Taraz State University (1985, Kazakhstan). 

Dr. Konstants joined AUCA in 1999 and actively participated in developing a microeconomics course in the Economics department in collaboration with the MBA program at the University of Washington, USA. The “Industrial Organization” course was developed within the three-year Summer School of EERC/HESP Certificate of HESP/EERC 2007. The Economics of the Firm course was developed within HESP's three-year Summer School program. Labor Economics was developed in 2008 under the ten-month CEU grant for course development. She also developed the Economic Research and Academic Writing course when the Behavioral Economics for MA in Economics course was developed under the cooperation program and the NMBU Norwegian University of Life Sciences Grant (Norway). 

She serves as the Chief of the AUCA Trade Union and a representative of the Trade Union in the Faculty Senate. She was a member of the International Conference on ICT in Education, Research, and Industrial Applications - ICTERI 2015-2016, a member of the Community Council of the Public Migration Service under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, and a participant in the development of the National Concept of Migration in the Kyrgyz Republic 2030 - ORCID - Connecting Research and Researchers. 

Dr. Konstants participates in international scientific events: congresses, conferences, workshops, round tables, seminars, and summer schools. Since 2017, she has participated in the Migration Conference - TMC, presenting her preliminary research results and serving as a head of workshops (2023, Germany). She attended the AMICAL Conference (2022, Morocco), a six-month Leadership Development Program of the Institute of Emerging Leadership on Online Learning (IELOL) Global (2020-2021), the International Conference on Central Asian Migrants in Western Europe (2020, Portugal), the IX International Scientific Conference “L’Avenir de la France et de la Russie: Tendances et Résultats de la Révolution Numérique dans L’Enseignement Superieur, la Recherche, L’Economie, le Developpement Regional” (2019, France), and the International Summit on Immigration, Refugees, and Humanity (2018, Turkey). She is a graduate of Faculty Development programs from the University of San Diego (USA), the University of Maryland - College Park (USA), the University of Washington (USA), RUTGERS (USA), Institute for Human Rights (Denmark), Norwegian University of Life Sciences (Norway), and numerous Summer Schools. 

Dr. Konstants was the Head of the International Business department at the University of Management and Design (UMD) in Kyrgyzstan, working based on British Business and Technical Education Council (BTEC) standards. Edexcel accredited the university. She taught courses in business BTEC Units, national and high national diploma programs, and economic courses there. She was the first head developing the program, where “A+” and “An Excellent Start| grades were awarded to the program by two external verifications from the London Edexcel Office. She was an Economic and Legislative Consultant and a Specialist in Connection with the government of the Kyrgyz Republic with the USAID contractors Booz-Allen and Hamilton, Ernst and Yang, and others. She worked as a Specialist on Privatization in the State Foundation of the Kyrgyz Republic and as a Senior Researcher and the Head of Department in the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic. She was actively involved in the assessment of Strategic Development Goal #4: Education (SDG - 4) within an international and local consulting activity funded by the UNICEF Grant with the participation of UNICEF and the President of the Kyrgyz Republic (2023).
