Transnational Partnerships for the Promotion and Advancement of Human Rights in Kyrgyzstan 

During the 2014 fall semester the AUCA International and Business Law (IBL) Department established a partnership with the Estonian Institute of Human Rights on the project on “Transnational Partnerships for the Promotion and Advancement of Human Rights in Kyrgyzstan”. Within the ambit of the partnership the IBL Department’s faculty met with the representatives of the Estonian Institute of Human Rights and Tartu University in Tallinn for a preparatory meeting on the project. The outcome of the visit is an agreement establishing that professors from Tartu University will visit AUCA during the 2014-2015 academic year spring semester and 2015-2016 academic year fall semester to offer intensive modular courses on the advancement of human rights with the support of the Estonian Institute of Human Rights.

 Association of Human Rights Institutes/ AUCA-Bard College Partnership

AUCA’s undergraduate program on human rights is closely collaborating with the Human Rights program at Bard College and is considered to be a part of an Association of Human Rights Institutes. AUCA faculty attended an academic workshop on the “International Human Rights Education” within the ambit of this academic cooperation in spring of 2013 in Berlin. The workshop was a discussion forum for various universities that make up Bard College`s global network, namely Smolny College (Russia), AUCA, European Humanities University (Belarus), Central European University (Hungary), Al-Quids University Honors College (East Jerusalem), and the International Human Rights Exchange Programme at the University of Withwatersrand (South Africa). This collaboration plays an important role in the strengthening of the program.
