Mahinur Mamatova is the Director of the Master of Arts in Talent Management and Human Potential Development in Organizations Program (TALENT) and an Associate Professor in the Sociology department and TALENT Program at the American University of Central Asia. She completed an individualized training program in Political Psychology supervised by Dr. Jerrold M. Post at George Washington University (2007, USA). She is a candidate of Psychological Sciences in Medical Psychology from Saint Petersburg State University (1999, Russia). She graduated from graduate school in clinical psychology at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (1997, Kyrgyzstan) and from the Psychology department of the Saint Petersburg State University (1994, Russia). 

Makhinur joined AUCA in 1998. She is a member of the Society for Research in Adolescence (SRA) in the US and an alumna of the International Exchange of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the US Department of State. She was an Erasmus Plus Visiting Professor at the Peace and Conflict studies of the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg (2023, 2019, Germany), Erasmus Plus Visiting Professor at the Department of Family, Youth, and Education at the University of Wuppertal (2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, Germany), a Research Scholar at the School of Social Sciences of Indiana University Southeast (2019, 2011-2012, 2002, USA), a guest lecturer at the Fliedner University of Applied Sciences (2017, Germany), a Visiting Scholar at Bard College (2010, USA), a Visiting Scholar at the European College of Liberal Arts (2009-2010, Germany), a Visiting Scholar at the Bratislava International School of Liberal Arts (2009, Slovakia), and a Project Coordinator of the AUCA-Christian A. Johnson Endeavor Foundation Course Development project.
