In April, the team of the Green AUCA project handed over 13 kg of batteries for recycling, which we collected in March (!). We sincerely thank all concerned AUCA staff, faculty and students who took part in our “green” initiative and handed over used batteries!

Modernizing Curriculum towards the Goals of UN SDGs for Central Asian Universities-Climate Action and Sustainability Development Workshop from June 12-19 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan

Since childhood, every one of us has a special place for books in our heart: there are favorite ones, rejected, educational, interesting, important, forgotten and many more!

On March 28-30, 2022, Acting Public Affairs Officer of the U.S. Embassy in Kabul Erik Black and Chief for Afghanistan and Pakistan Grants and Programs Vitessa Del Prete visited the American University of Central Asia.

The AUCA Development Office organized the International Conference entitled “The Afghan Crisis: The New Taliban Regime and Its Impact on Central Asia”, which took took place on March 30, 2022.

The team of the “Green AUCA” project has already handed over waste paper for recycling twice (the 1st time in March - 327 kg, we wrote earlier about this). On April 1, waste paper was handed over for recycling by 2 more AUCA departments - the Tian Shan Analytical Center (TAC) and the Shared Service Center, the total weight of which was 260 kg.

During the implementation of the 1st stage of the project - February–March - the Green AUCA project team with the PPD conducted the first inventory of waste on campus and analyzed its results.

On March 28 and 30, discussion events were held at AUCA following the results of the 1st stage of the “Green AUCA” project: on March 28 - with the active participation of the AUCA community (faculty, staff, students), on March 30 – with representatives of other universities of the Kyrgyz Republic and international organizations, waste recycling companies in the Kyrgyz Republic and the media.
