AUCA alumna Malika Ibragimova received “Best student research” award
On October 1-2, 2015 the "Life in Kyrgyzstan" conference took place in Bishkek for the first time. AUCA alumna Malika Ibragimova (Economics, 2015) was awarded “best student research”. She received a certificate and Thomas Piketty’s book “Capital.”

Anthropological fieldwork in Naryn
Student of Anthropology Department Basira Mir Mahamad took part in the two-week anthropological fieldwork in the town of Naryn. She told us about this unique experience, and how the fieldwork helped her and other students to develop their practical knowledge of archaeology.

WARC Tutor Mentoring Program “Critical Friends Group”
Starting from this year, the Writing and Academic Resource Center (WARC) has launched a mentoring program for new tutors called “Critical Friends Group”. The program matches new tutors with returning ones in a series of meetings and mutual observations.

Call for International Conference
Call for International Conference “Rethinking Resistance: The 1916 Uprising in Central Asia” on May 20-21, 2016. The year 2016 marks the centenary of the 1916 Uprising  in Central Asia. The largest and by far the most violent national protest against the Russian colonial rule, the Uprising of 1916 remains one of the lesser known episodes in the history of the region.
