AUCA Faculty Serves as International Judge for the 2026 Global Undergraduate Awards

Chiy weaving: From traditional craft to contemporary art
On September 29, the AUCA Forum hosted “Keepers of Chiy Traditions,” the closing art exhibition of the PREF 2025–26 project “Chiy weaving at the сrossroads of art, ecology and cultural survival.” The project was initiated and carried out by Cholpon Kuskakbaeva, a graduate student in AUCA's Anthropology program, with the support of the AUCA Presidential Research and Education Fund (PREF).

  The program is designed to prepare students for state exams in an interactive format. It features random question generation across academic subjects, test-taking capabilities, instant scoring, user authentication, and an attempt history log.

Thomas Peterson, a college freshman from Wisconsin, USA, studied at AUCA last year through the National Security Language Initiative for Youth, a US State Department program that teaches foreign languages to American high school students through study abroad.

From September 10 to 14, Bishkek hosted the 2nd UmutDoc International Documentary Film Festival. Projects and films created by students and alumni of AUCA's Television, Cinema and Media Arts (TCMA) Department earned high praise from industry experts and secured prestigious awards.

Orientation Program 2026
Two packed weeks of orientation have come to a close, and the closing ceremony was held. As in previous days, freshmen spent much of their time on academic sessions. They also learned how to build their own schedules and took part in online course registration for the first time - a genuinely challenging process, but one they handled well.

Annual International Conference of the Mid-Latitude Region Network (MLRN) & Third Pole at AUCA
 

 
On August 18–19, 2026, AUCA, Maker Space hosted the Annual International Conference of the Mid-Latitude Region Network (MLRN) & Third Pole, themed "Designing Climate-Resilient Futures."
The conference brought together international researchers, climate change experts, and representatives from academia, government agencies, and international organizations working in the fields of climate resilience, water security, climate change adaptation, and sustainable development.

ORIENTATION PROGRAM 2026
The Orientation Program 2026 at AUCA commenced on Monday, August 17th, marking the beginning of an exciting journey for 511 freshmen and the entire AUCA community. The first day of the orientation program is always a memorable experience, combining entertaining activities and traditional welcoming ceremonies that set the stage for an unforgettable academic adventure.
