1. The Concept of a «Good Girl» and a «Bad Girl» in the Context of Labor Migration from Kyrgyzstan to Russia

On March 14, 2015, the stadium of the Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic, in Bishkek, hosted the "Cup of Friendship" between the American University of Central Asia and the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Kyrgyz Republic. AUCA, co-organizer of this sporting event with the sport Newspaper Top.kg, won the game 3:1.

Yesterday, on March 12th, the Central Asian Studies Institute (CASI) hosted a research seminar on the thesis work of two senior students of the Sociology department.  Director of CASI and Head of MA program in Central Asian Studies, Svetlana Jacquesson, opened the seminar with a welcoming and introductory speech.

On March 3rd 2015, the Journalism and Mass Communications department at AUCA hosted a lecture on the topic “Non-verbal Communications”. The lecture was held by Shuyan He, the professor of the Communications course from the Zhejiang University of Sci-technology.

In Australia, there is a rite of passage: a lot of young people go travelling around the world on a working holiday before they start serious work and building their career.  I would suggest AUCA students to start the same tradition. 

Christopher Reintsma is a senior student of Psychology at the American University of Central Asia.  Christopher applied for a grant from the Student Intellectual Life Committee (SILC) and received a grant supporting his research in the field of mental health of adolescents.

I entered AUK long time ago in 1998. There, I studied Business Administration. AUCA was a great springboard for me. I made a lot of friends, with whom I still keep in touch.

The department of International & Comparative Politics would like to provide an opportunity for students who major in political sciences or international relations (or those who like to study these areas) to share their expertise and to foster open debate on today’s most important international issues.
