The ICP Department together with the Royal United Services Institute for Defense and Security Studies (RUSI) organizes on April 11, 2017 at AUCA a day-long workshop on illicit financial flows in Central and South Asia. Participants of the workshop are experts, government officials and development agencies working on this issue.

Journalism and Mass Communications Department is pleased to announce about the launch of the joint Concentration "Environmental Journalism" with Environmental Science and Sustainable Development Program;the launch of the joint Concentration "Data Journalism (Big Data)" with Software Engineering Department;the joint Concentration    in "Marketing and Public Relations» with Business Administration Department. Upon the completion of the courses the students will get a Certificate.

On March 27, 2017 two representatives from the U.S. Embassy in Tajikistan, Public Affairs Officer Lucy Jilka and Cultural Affairs Assistant Parviz Aydarshoev, visited AUCA. The U.S. Embassy in Tajikistan has been providing generous scholarships for talented students from Tajikistan to study at AUCA during several years.

CASI Research Seminar Series: Publishing in, on and for Central Asia: constrains and opportunities
This event was organized in the format of a discussion and aimed to outline the state of publishing in the field of Central Asian Studies. How do the linguistic, institutional, disciplinary, financial and geopolitical factors influence what gets published, where and with what effects? We invited three distinguished scholars to present their views speaking from diverse experiences and institutional positions. The discussion was held in English and Russian.

This event is organized in the format of a discussion and aims to outline the state of publishing in the field of Central Asian Studies.

Growth and Development: Starting Point – Children? Conference will allow the participants to discuss the latest tendencies and subjects of interest in the studies related to children’s lives and their development in Kyrgyzstan.
 

General Education Division conducted traditional “AUCA CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP – 2017” on last Saturday where more than 30 chess players took part in a very competitive championship game.

Nariman Utegaliyev, a senior in Psychology Department, balances his academic and work responsibilities as a student at AUCA and a tutor for the Writing and Academic Resources Center. During his time at AUCA, he has developed his (and others') professional and academic skills through his work with WARC.

This project aims (among other goals) at strengthening the visibility of our university in the area of academic research.
