Student Global Engagement Fellows are a group of inspiring graduates and undergraduates who promote and execute impactful thematic civic engagement projects on their campuses and the communities they live in, across the Open Society University Network.

  The long wait for the AMICAL on-site conference - the first after Kuwait in 2020, just before the Covid pandemic, finally came to an end. Not surprisingly, this was the most attended conference, with 135 attendees from 26 member institutions.

The presentation of the Paper2U project was held at AUCA. For about half a year, containers with the inscription: “Receipts only” have stood in different places at the university. Not everyone knows why these containers appeared at AUCA and why they collect receipts separately from other waste paper.

The Visual Storytelling for Civic Engagement and the OSUN network is a course designed to teach students the art of visual storytelling through various media. As part of this course, the students are given the opportunity to showcase their skills by participating in the OSUN film festival.

To answer all the questions at once, Ayana Myrzabekova, the inspirer of the project, Paper2U eco-startup, was invited to AUCA.

On February 28, the AUCA's Central Asian Studies Institute (CASI) and International and Comparative Politics Department (ICP) hosted a guest lecture by Prof. Dr. Andrew Mertha on China’s Fragmented foreign policy. Dr. Mertha

Moldoshev Bakai is a junior student in the Anthropology department specializing in International Development. Last semester he spent in New York studying at The Bard Globalization and International Affairs program.

Aziza Kanimetova graduated AUCA from the Journalism and Mass Communications department in 2020. After graduation, Aziza started an internship as a communication specialist at UNICEF. Upon successful internship completion, Aziza was offered to work at UNICEF as a Design and Social Media Consultant.

Zhamilia Asanova graduated from Journalism and Mass Communication Department in May 2022. Right after graduation Zhamilia decided to continue her education and entered a Master’s degree program at the Corvinus University of Budapest. Zhamilia participated in a highly competitive Stipendium Hungaricum program and was among the top-selected students from all over Kyrgyzstan.
