On October 1-2, 2015 the "Life in Kyrgyzstan" conference took place in Bishkek for the first time. AUCA alumna Malika Ibragimova (Economics, 2015) was awarded “best student research”. She received a certificate and Thomas Piketty’s book “Capital.”

Call for International Conference “Rethinking Resistance: The 1916 Uprising in Central Asia” on May 20-21, 2016. The year 2016 marks the centenary of the 1916 Uprising  in Central Asia. The largest and by far the most violent national protest against the Russian colonial rule, the Uprising of 1916 remains one of the lesser known episodes in the history of the region.

The Writing and Academic Resource Center (WARC) and AUCA Career Services will host a workshop on Applying to Graduate School. The workshop will be delivered by Alyssa Meyer, a Visiting Research Fellow from Indiana University.

Saadat Musabaeva, a senior in the International and Comparative Politics Department minoring in Anthropology at AUCA, attended the American University in Bulgaria as a visiting student in the fall of 2013. This past spring, Saadat spent another semester abroad with the Bard College exchange program.

On September 25, 2015, the Department of Psychology organized the Annual Psychology Student Symposium at American University of Central Asia (AUCA).

The Mary Schweitzer Scholarship was an initiative of the anthropology department’s class of 2005. It was established in 2010 and started funding students the same year. The scholarship was founded to support outstanding students studying anthropology at AUCA.

On September 3rd-6th, 2015, the Program of Psychology and the Master’s program in Applied Psychology (AP) of the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) took part in the second Asian Student’s Forum “Kyrgyzstan – Asia 2015”, organized by the Association of Asian Universities.
