AUCA Law Division Conducts a Summer School on Human Rights with the University of Zagreb
The American University of Central Asia (AUCA) Law Division and the University of Zagreb Faculty of Law in Croatia conducted the 2016 Summer School in Human Rights in early September. The week-long seminar occurred in Kyrgyzstan and included five AUCA students, four AUCA professors, five University of Zagreb students and three University of Zagreb professors.

On September 2, 2016, the Graduate School of Social Sciences welcomed its newly admitted students for the 2016-2017 academic year. The students will be studying in the Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, and Central Asian Studies (MACAS) departments.

Discovering more with a SILC grant
The Student Intellectual Life Committee (SILC) supports student-initiated projects, professional development opportunities, and student research. It awards small grants every month to the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) students. Behruz Ayubov, a sophomore in the Applied Mathematics and Informatics at AUCA talks about his grant from SILC.

Anastasiya Iun, a student in AUCA’s Master Program in Applied Psychology (MAPAP), was invited to study at the University of Massachusetts Boston (UMass Boston) during the Fall 2016 semester.

Native American dance group "Native Pride Dancers" and student theater "Mirrors" will perform at AUCA stage
On September 6, 2016, the “Native Pride Dancers,” Native American dance group from the United States and student’s theater of AUCA “Mirrors,” will be performing “Dancing through Life” and show master classes at the AUCA.

AUCA held Audio Journalism Workshop
 From August 30 - September 2, 2016 American University of Central Asia (AUCA) hosted a free and public Audio Journalism Workshop organized by Taxi Taxi, an innovative storytelling podcast from the South Caucasus.
The podcast's founders, Billie Jean Stirewalt and Vladic Ravich, led three days of classes to teach participants how to develop stories, record interviews, and get their shows to the public. The workshop was well-received and attended by a wide range of participants, including AUCA students and professors.
