“My name is Tatiana Ghyska and I teach Spanish at AUCA. I studied in a number of countries at different times. I graduated from the foreign languages department of the Moldova Kishinev State University, and have worked as a linguist, teacher, and translator. In Russia I’ve graduated from the "Intourist" Personnel Training Institute and was qualified as inspector for reception of foreign tourists. In Spain I studied at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
I worked in two major organizations: More than 10 years I worked in JSC " Intourist " as a guide and interpreter. From 1996 to 1999 I was involved in social and charitable activities, as a member of the Women's Guild of the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. Since 2000, I work as a teacher of Spanish at the department of "Foreign languages " in AUCA.
I teach Spanish at various levels: beginners, intermediate and advanced. I also taught "Business Spanish", "Spanish Lexicology", "Country Studies" earlier.
In 2003, I attended the training courses for Spanish language and literature teachers, which were held at the Complutence University of Madrid, Spain. The courses were very intense, diverse and useful. In addition to new knowledge in the various fields of linguistics and literature, we got a big methodological experience. Courses have inspired me, and a year later, I decided to enroll doctoral courses at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (AUB). I was very lucky, I got a scholarship AECID (Spanish Association of International Co-operation and Development) and from 2004 until 2006 I studied at the doctoral program at BAU. 2 years of study in Barcelona will never be forgotten. These were years of productive scientific work and research. The final result of this work was my doctoral dissertation, which I defended in December 2011, with the financial support of AUCA, and I am immensely grateful for that.
In 2000, after returning from Switzerland, I chose teaching at AUCA for two reasons: Since 1997 I had my third child, and by our return to Bishkek he was still young, I decided to change the type of activity - from travel to a more settled way of life. I also have decided to transfer the accumulated experience and knowledge to the younger generation. because it was a new university experimenting with a new style of education. Today we still experiment with new methods and push ourselves to be better, and that is why I am still here.
AUCA students do not differ much in the first year of students from other universities. I think the difference is more noticeable in the last years. During our years at AUCA our students change radically. On the one hand they are older and on the other, they acquire extensive knowledge and practical skills in the areas that they have chosen for their future profession. Special “spirit” of AUCA inspires students not only to study, but also participate in social and scientific activities.”
