From September 14 to 16, Bishkek hosted the Startup Nation hackathon, organized by Codify and Accelerate Prosperity, with the support of several partners. The event brought together 270 teams, over 600 participants, 20 mentors, 6 speakers, and 12 event partners. The hackathon provided an excellent platform for startup founders, students, and anyone looking to develop their entrepreneurial skills.
Startup Nation aimed to foster a startup support ecosystem in Central Asia and allow young entrepreneurs to develop their ideas, receive mentorship from top experts, and establish key business connections.
The event kicked off on September 14 at AUCA with participant registration, followed by the official opening and masterclasses led by invited experts. Key topics included startups, innovation, marketing, and new technologies.
Participants received one-on-one mentorship Throughout the three days, which became a cornerstone of the success of the hackathon. Group work and participation in masterclasses helped participants turn their ideas into viable projects.
On September 16, the final day, held at Makerspace, participants submitted their projects, presented them to the jury, and awaited the announcement of winners. Finalists were given unique opportunities to develop their startups further.
Many international and local organizations, including USAID, Eles, Limon.kg, Namba One, and others supported the event. Their contributions ensured a high level of organization and excellent conditions for participants.
The Startup Nation hackathon was a great example of how such events can help develop the startup culture in the region. The large number of participants and the high level of interest demonstrated the growing need for platforms that support young entrepreneurs.
