AUCA Chess Championship 2024

AUCA chess club hosted the AUCA Chess Championship 2024 chess tournament. Chess is an integral part of the culture at the university and this tournament showed great interest in the game among students, faculty and staff. The main task of the tournament was to determine the strongest players for the university teams formation. The tournament was organized by FIDE chess master, professor of Applied Mathematics and Informatics Department Taalaibek Imanaliev along with Liberal Arts and Sciences department and General Education department. The judge of the republican category Morozov Alexander was invited for judging. This year 38 participants took part in it. The competition was held according to the Swiss system. At the end of the intense tournament we received the following results:

The winners of the tournament among young students were:

1. Asyltai Kubanychbekov, AMI
2. Alym Daniiarov, AMI
3. Doryush Normatov, SFW

In the category of female students, the best were:

1. Mizhgona Davlatova, PSY
2. Fotima Sabzalieva, ECO
3. Astra Moldakunova, SFW

And in the category of teachers, staff and alumni won:

1. Daniyar Karabaev, LAS
2. Nurgul Tilenbaeva, ECO
3. Sultan Chalbaev, BA alumnus

All winners were awarded unique AUCA gifts, certificates, and medals.
