February 5, 2024
Friday, February 2, is the last day of Diversity Week 2024; it was remembered as the Final Concert, which featured performances from all delegations and theatre "Mirrors." The event culminated in a week-long celebration of diversity, inclusion, and unity. This year, 12 delegation teams took part in the Diversity Week:
Kyrgyz Delegation
Japanese Delegation
French Delegation
American Delegation
Mexican Delegation
Afghan Delegation
Bashkir-Tatar Delegation,
Roof of the World Delegation
Dagestan Delegation
Uyghur Delegation
Korean Delegation
SalSal Delegation
The opening ceremony of the concert began with the speech of Timothy O'Connor, the AUCA President - "At the end of last academic year, 41% of our students were international, and we are determined to grow this number. AUCA has supported, for 30 years and will support, the state sovereignty of the Kyrgyz Republic. Let's celebrate!"
As each delegation took the stage, they brought their flair and style to the show. The performances were as diverse as the countries they represented, from traditional folk dances to modern pop hits and storytelling.
Kyrgyz Delegation committed as the closing performance. The whole performance was devoted to the rich culture, as well as the deep history of the Kyrgyz people. They featured almost all the essential characters who left behind incredible imprints in the history of Kyrgyzstan, such as Manas and Kurmanjan Datka.
And, of course, the main highlight of the evening was a collaborative performance featuring all 12 delegations and theatre "Mirrors" coming together on stage and singing AUCA's beloved song - "We Are the World."
The AUCA community is grateful to delegations and the Student Life Office for these beautiful moments that will last forever!
