Dear students and parents!

You have started a wonderful journey, which will be very rich and exciting in terms of learning, inquiry, friendship, projects, and solidarity.

Let me be honest: there will be ups and downs, moments of glory and regret, determination and despair. After all, four years is a lot of time…

But you will very quickly understand that studies at AUCA are extremely rewarding in terms of knowledge and skills, experiences, and emotions that you will acquire, which will become your most valuable asset for future life.

In your lives after AUCA, there will be other ups and downs, other moments of glory and regret, but you do not need to be afraid. AUCA will make you significantly stronger in dealing with challenges and enable you to become intelligent, professional, responsible, civically engaged, good, and happy citizens of Kyrgyzstan and the world.

Please, love AUCA and be happy!

Today, we welcome new students and the new President of AUCA. This summer, our university was fortunate because AUCA was headed by an outstanding historian, the author of numerous scientific articles and monographs, I'm not afraid to say, an intellectual with a capital letter, the author of many international educational projects, a man who has done a lot for the development of high-quality education in the post-Soviet space.

By the decision of the AUCA Board of Trustees, Dr. Timothy O'Connor was elected President of the University.

The inauguration of the new President is a long tradition of our university. It has not been violated once during the thirty years of AUCA's existence.
