On October 19-20, 2023 AUCA hosted a training event on “Managing Electronic Resources” for 30 representatives of universities and public libraries from all over Kyrgyzstan. The event is part of the “Equity and Access to Knowledge for a Better Future” Project generously supported by the U.S. Embassy in Kyrgyzstan. The primary objective of this initiative is to enhance access to electronic information resources for libraries throughout the country.
The training program had the overarching goal of equipping library professionals with the expertise and competencies required to effectively navigate the ever-changing landscape of electronic resources. Throughout the training, attendees gained a comprehensive understanding of the electronic resource ecosystem, covering topics such as access models, user services, and user experiences. Participants from various academic and public institutions had the opportunity to share their individual experiences and best practices, contributing to a rich exchange of ideas and knowledge.
The event encouraged collaboration and knowledge-sharing, ensuring that university and public libraries can continue to thrive as essential sources of information in the digital age.
