On September 21, as part of the Climate Week in Kyrgyzstan the AUCA Center for Civic Engagement hosted a Zero Emission Day. The event featured workshops, interactive games, and presentations by experts in the field. The event's primary purpose was to raise awareness among the AUCA community about the importance of reducing emissions. It served as a platform to educate and engage students, faculty, and staff in sustainable practices that can contribute to a zero-emission future. Additionally, the event intends to inspire attendees to take eco-conscious actions in their daily lives and advocate for emission reduction.
The event also featured a special guest speaker from UNISON Group and AUCA students participating in COY18 (Conference on Youth on Climate Change). They shared their experiences working towards a zero-emission future and highlighted the importance of collective action towards regulating issues with climate change.
Furthermore, Professor Sagynbek Orunbaev, the AUCA Professor in the Environmental Sustainability and Climate Science Department, presented his scientific research on emissions reduction during the event. The study's central theme was focused on the global impact of emissions and why achieving zero emissions is crucial.
The AUCA Zero Emission Day has successfully achieved its goal of raising awareness among the AUCA community. By promoting sustainable practices within its community, AUCA can serve as an example for other educational institutions while contributing towards global efforts to combat climate change.
