Field trip to "ToyBoss" Company

On Thursday, March 2, 2023, the department of Environmental Sustainability and Climate Science organized a production tour to the company of “Toyboss” on the courses of
“Environmental Management System (ISO 14001:2015) and Food Security, Nutrition and Sustainable Development.” The purpose of the excursion was to get acquainted with the production technology and environmental and food standards. In addition, the students had the opportunity to see the laboratory, which checks and continuously improves the quality of products.

The “Toyboss” company is the leader of the sausage products market in Kyrgyzstan. The company offers high-quality products made from environmentally friendly and natural products. The company is certified according to the internationally recognized standards such as TÜV Thüringen e. V. and comply with the requirements of ISO 22000:2005, ISO/TS 22002-1:2009
and FSSC 22000.

As part of our Food Security, Nutrition & Sustainable Development course, we had the chance to visit the Toyboss company, a company that mainly produces sausages and sandwiches. The visit to the company was very enriching for me, indeed it was the first time I discovered the functioning and the challenges of a company of such a size in Bishkek.

Toyboss is a clean company that follows strict hygiene rules as we could notice during the visit. It is also a key company for the local economy, we learned that it was almost exclusively supplied in Kyrgyzstan and that it represented an important part of the local meat consumption. Finally, Toyboss is in line with the times, offering local products, in large quantities, respecting local and international standards and tastes, and even remaining open to the possibility of alternative meat consumption such as vegan meat. To conclude, despite the fact that I am a vegetarian and despite a strong smell of sausage, I really enjoyed seeing how this company works.

Our group had a wonderful excursion to the company Toyboss. One of the managers of the company, explained in detail about food safety and the sausage production process. We were
able to see the different stages of production, from mixing to stuffing and packaging. At the end there was an opportunity to try different types of sausages, which were very tasty. It was a great way to learn more about the products we eat and appreciate the process of making quality sausages. It was very informative and delicious!
