On Tuesday, May 31, the Department of Liberal Arts and Sciences held an event due to the end of the class "Design Thinking & Innovation", this class was very special for students who attended it, because the idea and plan for this course were focused on real practice with local business industries.
Students were divided into small groups and sent to an internship at business partner's startups to solve the issues and find a new creative way to existing problems with an aid of design thinking.
Business Partners:
UNQLOD (Design Service Online)
Blind App Startup
Child Academy of Development (Kindergarten & Primary School)
Ololo Akzhol (co-working community for Digital Nomads in Issyk-Kul)
Eco-filter Startup
Jenny Jenish Kyzy, the Assistant Professor on Desing Thinking run the event with a welcoming speech and gratitude to business partners who made the "Real World Challenge" possible. Groups of students alternately presented their work done and defended the ideas that they contributed to the projects.
After the presentation session, all students and business representatives attended the round-table format, where everyone was able to speak freely and without any formality. Daniar Imanaliev, the co-founder of Ololo positively commented on the students' presentation, but added - "you should think more open and think out of the box, find a creative solution more whether just pointing on well know issues". One of the students stood up with a speech, where he thanked the Department of Liberal Art and Sciences for such a wonderful experience, moreover, he mentioned an interesting point - "We are just a student and it's our time to make mistakes, it is better to make them now than already in real work".
The overall event was conducted in a bright and free atmosphere, after the close-talk AUCA representatives sincerely thanked business partners and awarded them with a certificate of gratitude, and of course everyone tasted a cake in honor of the end of the academic year 2021-2022!
