AUCA hosted the awarding ceremony of the 2019 Mary Schweitzer Scholarship for Excellence

On December 19, 2019, the American University of Central Asia hosted the awarding ceremony of the 2019 Mary Schweitzer Scholarship for Excellence. The Selection Committee has chosen Azhar Kaltarbekova, the forth-year student of Anthropology Program, to be the winner. The awarding ceremony took place in the skybox on the third floor of the American University of Central Asia with the professor of Anthropology Program Cholpon Chotaeva awarding the winner with her certificate.

Mary Schweitzer Scholarship was established in 2010 by Anthropology Program graduates of 2005 in honor of Professor Mary Schweitzer who was teaching at Anthropology Program from 2002 to 2005. The aim of the scholarship was to assist students with financial needs studying at the program. Every fall students of the program with financial needs apply for the scholarship to receive a financial aid to cover their tuition fees.
