On October 24th, Ms. Gwen Franck, Open Access Program coordinator at EIFL International Library Consortium, held a one-day training on Open Science for faculty, librarians, and researchers from AUCA and other institutions such as University of Central Asia, OSCE Academy, Razzakov Kyrgyz State Technical University, Ala-Too International University, Kyrgyz State Patent and Technical Library, and Library and Information Consortium of Kyrgyzstan.
The agenda included discussions of different OPEN concepts, such as Open Access, Open Licensing, Open Data, etc. Participants learned about existing open science practices and tools and discussed potential benefits and challenges in implementing open access. During TOT component of the training, participants worked in groups to design their training related to different OPEN topics, such as Creative Commons licenses, Open Access journals, institutional repositories, and OER.
The training was co-organized by AUCA Library, AUCA Research Office and EIFL Consortium within the framework of International Open Access Week 2019.
