On Wednesday, 15 May from 9:00 am-18:00 pm, a conference dedicated to the 115th anniversary of the famous scientist, one of the founders of Kyrgyz ethnography, Antipina Claudia Ivanovna, will be held at American University of Central Asia.
In 1937, as the wife of “An enemy of the people” M. Rabinovich, she was expelled from Moscow with a 5-year-old son to an unknown country, Kyrgyzstan, which she later fell in love with and devoted herself to the science of ethnography. For 30 years, Antipina C. I. worked on the creation of the album of the Kyrgyz national costume.
Claudia Ivanovna published more than 30 scientific studies that were included in the golden fund of Kyrgyz studies. Such as: “Life of collective farmers in the villages of Darkhan and Chychkan”, ”Features of material culture and applied art of southern Kyrgyz” (1962) and S. M Abramzon was its scientific director and mentor Infused with love for the folk master and his work, Antipina gave the name to the association of folk crafts "KYAL", and stood at its origins. The Historical Museum, Museum of Fine Arts was supervised by scientific advice of the ethnographer I.C Antipina.
