On Wednesday, March 6, the American University of Central Asia held the Afghan Culture Day which brought together around 150 students and guests to get acquainted with the ancient history and vibrant culture of Afghanistan.

Guests and participants of the event enjoyed snacks, dances, and songs prepared by students, an exhibition of photographs, a game station, an insta-zone, a mehendi tattoo, and a lottery organized by the ladies from the International Students office and students.

The main initiator of the event Chingiz Shamshiev, AUCA Vice-President/COO, warmly welcomed guests and students:

I am grateful for all your contribution to this event. I am sure that we will keep the best memories of today.

Mr. Shamshiev addressed a couple of words about the idea of diversity at university:

AUCA develops and cherishes ethnic, confessional, intellectual diversity. We believe that high diversity in classrooms substantially increases the quality of education. Placing students with different mindsets, cultural, geographical and confessional backgrounds in one classroom stimulates better discussions, exchanges, and learning. It brings us closer to education as a research process. Another important mission of the American University of Central Asia is bringing prosperity by breaking the barriers. We put our best efforts in developing the networks to create integrated and united Central Asia. We do not need new Iron Curtains dividing Central Asia. The prosperity of Central Asia lies in its unity, and our mission at AUCA is to promote the integration at the earliest stage, by teaching the youth.

Ambassador Mr. Mohammad Essa Mesbah thanked AUCA administration for the organized event:

It is a big honor for me to meet a lot of students from Afghanistan at AUCA and observe their academic achievements each year. Afghanistan is a country of people who never forget own culture and traditions, and deliver knowledge to the next generations. Today, at the Day of Afghan Culture, hopefully, you will be able to fully plunge into the ancient history and colorful culture of Afghan people with the help of our talented students.

On behalf of the Embassy, Mr. Mohammad Essa Mesbah awarded AUCA students from Afghanistan with the certificates of merit for the academic success and active participation in the life of the Afghan Embassy in Kyrgyzstan.

The end of the event was decorated by the colorful dances of Afghan students and joined by all the visitors and participants.
