"Artistic Meta-cognition and Studio Art Experience" summer course

The VAFT department is excited to announce a summer course on Visual Arts "Artistic Meta-cognition and Studio Art Experience" by Bibiana Powell, an Art Educator from Seattle, Washington.
Areas of theoretical study will include: Elements of Art and Principles of Design, (U.S.) National Core Arts Anchor Standards, Visual Thinking Strategies, and Studio Habits of Mind. Students will both create and analyze their own work (as artists’ statements) and those of their peers using these concepts to develop a firm understanding of them. Daily class structure will include discussion of concepts alongside viewing masterworks, introduction to media usage, followed by time to create.
The course will start on June 25, 2018. You should come to the registrar office and fill the form as soon as possible.
The cost for the course is 300 USD.
