October 13, 2017
On Friday, September 22, Physical plant department and International student office jointly organized a session for dormitory residents to explain norms of fire security.
Dormitory residents were informed how to act in case of fire or any other dangerous occasions, what to do and not to do if the building is burning or full of smoke or if other disasters happen.
Additional information on how to use electronic devices without harm to oneselves and to the device was provided. The residents were updated that they will receive a new equipment shortly (drying machines and containers for food) and received instructions how to use items properly.
Residents were actively engaged in the discussion and demonstrated desire to form a fire brigade, which will help officials in case of accidental fire in the Dormitory or on Campus. The students are invited to be trained by responsible AUCA representative who will train the volunteers how to organize peers in case of fire and which further actions should be taken.
The residents were reminded that this year's resident advisors of the Dormitory were trained how to provide medical emergency assistance. The first aid training for RAs was organized with a great help of Kyrgyz Red Crescent. The residents who have medical problems were encouraged to approach floor RAs any time in case if emergency help or advice is needed.
Residents were also informed about Dormitory first aid kits and how to use them.
AUCA dormitory administration hopes that these easy but necessary steps will help the residents to have a safe year in AUCA international Dormitory.
