Mary Schweitzer Scholarship for Excellence in Anthropology welcomes applications from promising students of Anthropology Department at AUCA. The aim of this scholarship is to support students who show commitment to and excellence in anthropology.
The scholarship has been established in 2010 by anthropology alumni’05 in honor of Professor Mary Schweitzer in consideration of all she did for the benefit of anthropology at AUCA and her ongoing commitment to the future of her former students. Mary Schweitzer is a US-based Professor of anthropology and she taught anthropology at AUCA from 2002 to 2003 and from 2004 to 2005.
Eligibility
Students entering the second, third or fourth year of a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in the Anthropology Department at AUCA are welcome to apply. Applicants must be citizens of Kyrgyzstan. Last year's winners are NOT eligible to apply this year. However, if two years have passed since a student has won this award, he/she eligible to apply again.
Award amount and type
This year, the scholarship fund raised over $1500. The amount of the award will depend on the quality and quantity of the applications. Applicants will be notified about the results at the end of November 2017.

Application assessment
Mary Schweitzer Scholarship undertakes a detailed qualitative assessment according to the following criteria:
