June 13, 2017
June 2, 2017 AUCA Summer Practicum Program has begun. This summer AUCA has a mixed group of 13 students joining from USA, Japan and AUCA. All students are full of energy and excited of their new life summer adventure.
The first days of the program were mostly focused on the introduction to each other, staff and faculty and included one-day Orientation in and out of the campus to get used to the new cultural life and social environment.
Within the Summer Practicum Program all participants have an opportunity to attend many different governmental and non-governmental, international and private organizations to learn more of its engagement in Kyrgyzstan and have a general overview of how they function in a daily practice.
As one of the first visits, we were delighted to arrange it with a public agricultural organization called “Agrarian Platform” that took place on June 6th and has been an impressive experience for all participants.
The staff members of organization were kindly supporting our ideas before and during the visit and prepared a great plan with a tour around the organization and presentation of the Agrarian Platform. As an interesting part of the visit was to learn about organic food production in Kyrgyzstan, how it differs from the traditional farming and what is the process of verifying the company as an organic.
Thereafter students were taken to visit first the Kyrgyz Organic Factory and later an Eco life store to see the variety of organic products and try the most ecological and tasty food.
We can truly say that the visit has been successful and everyone enjoyed it a lot.
Thanks to the great partnership with Bard College and enormous support of our partners in Kyrgyzstan, we believe that International Student Office of AUCA can make the project succeed.
