On November 17, 2016, President Wachtel met with Hap Tivey, a sculptor and writer, and Chiori Miyagawa, a playwright, to talk about education, culture, and AUCA. Both guests were invited to run workshops at AUCA through the AUCA-Bard College (New York) partnership.
President Wachtel told Tivey and Miyagawa about the University’s academics and student life, mentioning student clubs, the art works in the university he noted: “We appointed this building to be a cultural center in addition to being a university. What makes us unique from other campuses is that we combine everything into one.”
“It is so amazing to be here with international students! It was so moving for me just to be here. I have never experienced anything like it,” Chiori Miyagawa told Wachtel.
Following the meeting, President Wachtel invited the guests to see AUCA’s 2016 Initiations Ceremony.
