The WARC Celebrates Its Fifth Birthday

We are happy to congratulate the Writing and Academic Resource Center on this anniversary. For five consecutive years, the WARC has provided free, one-on-one tutoring in writing, mathematics, economics and financial accounting to the AUCA community. A number of AUCA professors also joined in the celebration and offered their good wishes to the WARC, which currently offers as many as 150 tutoring hours per week. 

“The WARC peer tutors are the best of the best. Seventeen out of our twenty-one tutors are either on President’s or Dean’s List. We are very proud of them. All we can wish for is that they remain as motivated, as competent, and as driven as they already are. A lot of them will be graduating this year, and we want them to have the same success in their life beyond the WARC as they did here. They really are all doing an outstanding job”, said Mariya Antonova, WARC Director.

Paul Drosnes, WARC Coordinator, added to this by saying that “it is a privilege to work with all these students. I am really proud of everybody. The two of us manage things from the office, but the students are the ones doing the hard work, putting their hours in every day, every week.”

The professors and the tutors had the opportunity to discuss in an informal atmosphere their plans and ideas for the future. They also offered their gratitude to the WARC managing team.

“I am sure Mariya and Paul are the people who are responsible for everything. We should thank them for the existence of WARC, for the work they do, and for the tutors, who gather here all the time. Thank you very much! Keep growing!” said Kamilya Kadyrova, the director of New Generation Academy.
