The American University of Central Asia is officially opening two new laboratories: a geology laboratory for the Department of Applied Geology and a media laboratory for the Department of Television, Cinematography and Visual Art. Both laboratories will be functional starting in the 2016-2017 academic year, the same time as their respective departments.
The official opening ceremony for both laboratories will be June 3, 2016, at 11:00 AM, and is open to the public and media representatives.

The University will conduct a tour of the new laboratories and give attendees the opportunity to directly ask questions to representatives of the departments.
The media laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art TV, audio, and radio equipment as well as its own editing studio. All of the new equipment will be accessible to students of the Department of Television, Cinematography and Visual Art with the explicit purpose of helping them acquire practical skills to cinematography, TV-radio reporting, graphic design, and animation.
Within a similar line of thought, students in applied geology will be able to carry out lab research on environmental chemistry and geochemistry. This practical lab work will be a necessary part of their senior theses, preparing them for work after graduation with state-of-the-art geophysical lab equipment. The Department of Applied Geology aims to create professional specialists with broad theoretical and practical knowledge of geology and its applications.
