December 8, 2015 four AUCA students received scholarships from Jae Chang Lee, the Chief Executive Officer of the “Jaechang Lee” Skin Clinic.
These four students were nominated by AUCA to take part in the Undergraduate Student Exchange Program between AUCA and its partner universities in South Korea. The scholarship covers basic accommodation costs and round trip airfare to South Korea.
Iliyas Mamadiyarov, AUCA International Student Coordinator, commented “This is the first time this scholarship is being offered. The person who is willing to provide the funds is Dr. Lee. Currently, AUCA has an exchange relationship with two main institutions in South Korea. These are Hannam University and Kyung Hee University. Each year we send students to these schools.”
“It’s a good chance for all of you. I hope you will study well in Korea. This scholarship will cover the expenses related to your exchange semester in Korea,” Jae Chang Lee said.
“Thank you Dr. Lee for your support, you will see that in the future we will become important leaders. When we come back we will thank you again in Korean”, Gulnaza Khalmanbetova said, one of the recipients of the scholarship.
“I’m going to Korea because it is one of the most unique countries in Central Asia. I just want to see how they are dealing with their neighbors and their economy. The major problem is that my homeland, Afghanistan, is dealing with its politics and economy; I should learn how a country should treat neighboring countries,” noted Zulfiqar Ammani, another recipient of the scholarship.
The winners are:
Gulnaza Khalmanbetova - Kyung Hee University – Spring 2016
Zulfiqar Ammani - Kyung Hee University – Spring 2016
Rakhat Kubanychbekova - Hannam University – Spring 2016
Aichurok Ybyraimova - Hannam University – Spring 2016
