On September 14, 2015 famous millinery designer and AUCA alumna Lilia Fisher visited her alma-mater to hold a guest lecture, “Hats and the City,” for students and alumni.
Lilia studied Journalism and Mass Communications at AUCA and is now a millinery designer in Moscow, where fashion-mongers and socialites alike love her hats and accessories. Lilia’s work can been spotted in Cosmopolitan, Hello, Joy, Burda, ELLE and many other fashion magazines.
Lilia recounted her path to success, starting with her time at AUCA. Why she started to design hats, and why she chose to pursue a career outside her major. She emphasized the importance of one’s own aspirations.
“Do not be afraid of getting to your dream. Dream big, and find all the possible ways to reach your goals”, - Lilia said.
After the lecture, students asked Lilia about her brand, her future plans, and the difficulties of building a business, encouraging the talk to become a more informal conversation.
