September 4th saw the first Knowledge and Convocation Day Ceremony take place at the American University of Central Asia (AUCA). The ceremony recognized academic excellence of the students who had made the President’s List and the Dean’s List.
“Today we give awards to Dean’s List and President’s List and we hope that these students will serve as a role model for other students at university,” Dr. Andrew Wachtel, the president of AUCA, said. Dr. Wachtel thanked the parents for the opportunity to educate their children.
This year, 12 senior students, from Business Administration, Economics, European Studies, International and Business Law, International and Comparative Politics, Journalism and Mass Communication, and Software Engineering, made the President’s List. 98 students from Anthropology, Applied Mathematics and Informatics, Business Administration, Economics, European and American Studies, LAS, Journalism and Mass Communication, International and Business Law, International and Comparative Politics, Psychology, Sociology, and Software Engineering, made the Dean’s List.
To make the President’s List, a student must have a minimum of 180 credits, a cumulative GPA of at least 3.8 and have no “F” grades on his or her transcript. To make the Dean's List, a student must have a minimum of 60 credits, a cumulative GPA of at least 3.67, and have no “F” grades on his or her transcript.
