Students from the Talas region will have their studies at AUCA sponsored by Talas Copper Gold and Andash Mining Company (AMC), a subsidiary of Robust Resources Singapore (TCG). The agreement, signed on May 15, shows businesses’ interests in investing in higher education of youth in Central Asia.
The two investors help fulfill AUCA’s mission to provide high-quality education regardless of students’ income. AUCA already has a proven track record of fruitful partnerships with major international businesses such as Mina Corp and Kumtor Operating Company. With its one year preparatory program to AUCA admission exams, students from rural schools and remote areas have been able to enroll in undergraduate programs. With this new partnership, more talented and motivated young Kyrgyz from targeted regions will have the opportunity to go to university after school.
As noted by Mr. Eduard Kubatov, Strategic Adviser at Robust Resources Singapore, the company chose AUCA for the high employment rates of its graduates. It was the key indicator in selecting a partner university. The investor is also cooperating with Ataturk-Alatoo University on its higher education program. Dr. Andrew Wachtel welcomed the initiative and close partnership not only with the donor, but with colleagues from Ataturk-Alatoo University.
