August 28, 2014 the orientation activities for new students of the Academy of the New Generation began at AUCA. Within the three days, before the beginning of the academic year, the stuff of NGA introduced students with the academic calendar, faculty, and academic building of the university.
The students of NGA arrived from all regions of the Kyrgyz Republic and other countries as well, like: Korea, China, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Turkey.
Volunteers, who are the alumni of NGA, organized meetings in the dormitory of AUCA. It is the first time for the majority of the students being far from their homes, therefore the meetings with alumni had a great impact on their adaptation. Teambuilding games, informal communications and discussions helped students to get emancipated and create a comfortable condition for themselves at AUCA.
The students of NGA are multinational. To the question "Why did you choose NGA?" the answers were different and here are some of them:
Karalaev Elaman, Kazakhstan: The decision to enroll into NGA did not come that easily. When the question arose, “Where should I go to study?” my long search process began. The difficulty of choosing a future profession in the current situation creates a big problem and complicates the process of self-development. My elder brother, who graduated from AUCA, last year, recommended to apply to NGA, and he described the whole process, and suggested that NGA helps to improve my English and mathematics. I will have a whole year to prepare and choose my desired profession. The right choice will serve me excellent condition for learning at AUCA later. In the future, I dream to create my own business in the field of ecology and I am sure AUCA will give me necessary knowledge on this.
Rahman kyzy Aysalkyn, Kyrgyzstan: Desire gives birth to actions. I have heard a lot about AUCA and the NGA program. The preparatory courses and further studying at the university were the main arguments of my final choice of studying at AUCA. I am just starting an independent life and my first decision was to apply for the NGA. Self-discipline and independence – these are my basic focuses. Scholarship of NGA will allow me to fill the gaps in English and mathematics and to enter university next year. Dreams can be different and many, and my dream is to go to the university, and for that, I need to apply effort this year to successfully enroll into the University of my dream.
Ozod Ismanov, Tajikistan: The reason of coming to Kyrgyzstan from Tajikistan is the quality of education and education system at AUCA. Lack of the knowledge of English language a bit slowed down the process. NGA is a perfect place to fill the missing pieces of knowledge. My decision to apply for the preparatory courses was not approved by my friends. Everyone had different opinions, saying that I would lose one year. But, I'm sure one year will only bring benefit for me, it will help to strengthen my knowledge, make new friends and be ready for the next four years of studies at AUCA.
Start is given, the third academic year began. Information on the activities of NGA is spread across countries, thus the international student population expands every year. We wish for the students and faculty of the Academy of the New Generation of AUCA great success in this new academic year! Go for it!
