The Third National Inter-University Marketing Competition took place on May 20,2014 at the Kyrgyz National University. The competition is held annually to improve students’ knowledge on marketing, reveal creatively gifted youth, and to shape future personnel potential for administrative, entrepreneurial, and marketing activities. Five teams and more than forty students attended the competition as representatives of the Economics Departments of seven universities in Kyrgyzstan: Jusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University (Institute of Business and Administration), American University of Central Asia, B.Yeltsin Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, Ryskulbekov Kyrgyz University of Economics, Academy of State Management under the President of Kyrgyz Republic, Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, Institute of Economics and Management under I.Arabaev Kyrgyz State University.

 

AUCA was represented in the competition by the “8th Wonder” team:

Amantur Tynybekov

Natali Zinovyeva

Kashitsina Lidia Ivanovna – faculty member.

 

According to team captain Timur Nazhimidinov, the competition consisted of 4 rounds: a test exercise, team presentations, commercial competition, and a case solutions activity. Timur reports that the team was “honored to present AUCA and of course we felt great responsibility. There was a real meeting of minds between our teammates and we won second place. We have won discounts for a tour to Almaty. Also, Sapar won 3rd place in individual competition. I’m proud of our team, really the best students study at AUCA! We want to thank Lidia Ivanovna for help in trainings and Nasiba for support.“

 

The finals results of the competition were:

1st place – Team “Gentlemen of fortune” - Jusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University (Institute of Business and Administration)

2nd place – Team “8th wonder” – AUCA

3rd place – Team “Jashmen” Institute of Economics and Management under I.Arabaev Kyrgyz State University

 

The competition was concluded with a ceremonial presentation of certificates and valuable gifts to winners, thanks in part to the event’s sponsors.

 

“PEGASUS ASIA” Air Company provided 14 round-trip air tickets between Bishkek and Istanbul for the 1st place winners as well as the organizing committee of the competition.

 

“TOURISMAGENCY” tour company donated five 50% discount tour vouchers to Almaty for the second place team.

 

Bishkek Park Bowling Club gave certificates to the Bowling Club for the third place team.

 

Manas International Airport, “Namba.KG” social network, and the Chamber of Commerce & Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic offered logo-branded gift sets to all teams and team leaders.
