Corruption Devalues Education!
At 2:00 p.m. on January 15th, Minister of Education and Science Kanat Sadykov met with Bishkek university students at the American University in Central Asia.
Along with Minister Sadykov Jalilovich, Abdymanapov Joldoshov, Head of Professional Education in the Ministry of Education and Andrew Wachtel, President of the American University in Central Asia, met with the most active university students in Bishkek.
The meeting's purpose was to discuss the results of measures aimed at preventing corruption in educational institutions and the results of the "net session" on transitioning higher education into layered training structures.
President Wachtel explained how the educational process is carried out at AUCA. He shared opinions about what issues education should address in Kyrgyzstan.
Minister Sadykov answered students' questions on the most corrupt aspects of the university system in Kyrgyzstan and how to prevent corruption in education. He stated, "we have adapted mechanisms to combat corruption from those used in Western universities where students know and abide by rules. We support training in transparent technologies, academic honesty, and budget openness."
