Major Requirements

 

To be awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and International Development students must successfully complete a total of 242 credits. These credits are distributed across general education, major requirements, major electives, and open electives as follows:

General Education Requirements: 94 credits

A broad foundation in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, arts, languages, critical reasoning, and writing skills.

Major Requirements: 66 credits

Core courses in anthropology, archaeology, heritage studies, and international development. These provide theoretical grounding, methodological training, and interdisciplinary perspectives essential to the field.

Major Electives: 36 credits

Advanced or specialized courses selected within the field of anthropology, archaeology, or international development. These allow students to tailor their studies according to their interests and intended career or research trajectory.

Electives Outside the Major: 46 credits

Courses taken outside the major field, offering students the opportunity to broaden their knowledge base, pursue a minor, or explore interdisciplinary interests.
