Online Scheduling System at WARC
Of the changes we’ve made at WARC this year, the most visible to our students (perhaps with the exception of our new large and beautiful space), is our online scheduling system. This new system was a product of a close partnership between WARC management, the Office of the Chief Information Officer, and the AUCA student body.

Rahat Sabyrbekov tells his impressions of the UN conference
On August 31 – September 4, Rahat Sabyrbekov, an assistant professor in the Economics Department at AUCA, participated in the United Nations Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) as a Young Fellow. Rahat is a co-author of the Regional and Subregional Assessment on Europe and Central-Asia.

Annual psychology student symposium
On Friday, September 25, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm, Psychology Department of AUCA will hold annual student Symposium. This significant academic event is designed to encourage Psychology majors to conduct their research and internship as well as present their findings to a diverse audience of Psychology students and faculty members.

Applications Open for Mary Schweitzer Scholarship
The Mary Schweitzer Scholarship was an initiative of the anthropology department’s class of 2005. It was established in 2010 and started funding students the same year. The scholarship was founded to support outstanding students studying anthropology at AUCA.

AUCA students received award for the best project at the Asian Student’s Forum
On September 3rd-6th, 2015, the Program of Psychology and the Master’s program in Applied Psychology (AP) of the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) took part in the second Asian Student’s Forum “Kyrgyzstan – Asia 2015”, organized by the Association of Asian Universities.

New NGA teachers from Bard College
For the first time, the New Generation Academy (NGA) at the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) has established a partnership with Bard College and brought over two tutors to teach for the NGA program. Anna Daniszewski and Sophie Lazar share their thoughts on the NGA students and program, new campus, and about their first visit to Kyrgyzstan.

President Andrew Wachtel clarifies questions about AUCA parking policy
After September 21, 2015, parking at the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) will no longer be free. There will be a total of 70 parking spaces. One parking space will cost $100 per academic year. AUCA president Andrew Wachtel, who has already paid for his parking space, was interviewed to clarify the most common questions.
