AUCA new faculty member - Anastasia Valeeva is data journalism lecturer and open data researcher. She has researched the use of open data in investigative data journalism as part of her fellowship at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism, Oxford.

Dear faculty and students, for the upcoming 6th Asian Borderlands conference in AUCA (Bishkek), we invite panels and papers that address the following questions: How are borderlands in Asia creating alternative spaces for heritages, self-definition and the extraction of resources? Villagers will be provided financial assistance worth more than € 20,000 in the framework of TSPC AUCA project
TSPC AUCA in partnership with CAMP Ala-Too in the framework of Project on adaptation to climate change in rural areas funded by Volkswagen Foundation conducted four-day trainings in two communities of Chui oblast: Kuntuu and Boroldoi villages in Sokuluk and Kemin districts respectively. Based on the results of these trainings, local communities formulated five project proposals on most acute water-related problems in their locality.

4,000 Euro for AUCA from the AMICAL Consortium
Meghan McCormack, member of the Law Division faculty has secured 4,000 Euro for AUCA from the AMICAL Consortium to (1) purchase data analysis software to aid AUCA faculty's qualitative and quantitative research, and (2) invite international experts to train AUCA faculty, staff, and students on hosting, managing, and ethically sharing research data.

New online tutoring sessions by WARC
Starting from this Fall, the WARC has started to offer online tutoring sessions!  As the first learning support center in the Bard-HESP network and the country of Kyrgyzstan to offer such a service, the WARC is excited to tell us more about the online tutoring program.
