Dear Incoming Freshmen 2017, we look forward to meeting you during the Orientation program on August 16 – 29, 2017. We are proud to have you as our new students and welcome you into our community of friends, colleagues, and scholars! This is a new beginning for both students and family members; beginnings that we hope you are ready to explore.

At the 2017 Commencement Ceremony, recent graduate Nariman Utegaliev was recognized for his exceptional senior thesis work. Utegaliev took some time to tell us about his research and thank the people who helped him produce his award-winning work.

June 8, 2017 the AUCA hosted a guest lecture of John Marks, one of the leaders of non-profit organization, a founder and Ex-President/ CEO of Search for Common Ground. 

In the middle of May, 2017, six AUCA students undertook an expedition to an ancient site located on Issyk Kul, 3 kilometers to north of Sary-Kamysh. Rejebov Tirkishmurat, a sophomore of Anthropology department told us about this trip.

June 2, 2017 AUCA Summer Practicum Program has begun. This summer AUCA has a mixed group of 13 students joining from USA, Japan and AUCA. All students are full of energy and excited of their new life summer adventure.

The AUCA Women and the Arts Club aims to uphold core value of AUCA of being globally responsible and socially merciful. Women and Arts Club honors the vision of promoting positive images of both genders and aims to raise awareness on campus about current gender issues on a local, national, and global scale.

Fall 2017, the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) will officially open its program in Gender Studies. AUCA’s program in Gender Studies is the first academic program of its kind in Central Asia and an important step in looking at gender relations within the nation, the region, and the world.

On June 1, the Law Division of the American University of Central Asia in partnership with the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic and with the support of the USAID / IDLO Kyrgyzstan Judicial Strengthening Program, conducted the first national moot court competition in constitutionalism “Adilet 2017”.

Tian-Shan Policy Center AUCA researchers Tatyana Zlobina, Asyl Balybaeva and Natalya Dolinskaya have elaborated a methodology to monitor implementation of KR laws on a commission by International Organization for Migration (IOM).
Methodology is so much unified that it can be used to only by noncommercial organization within the country, but by state bodies aiming to monitor implementation of any laws.
