The most magnificent AUCA tradition - Multicultural Week has passed. It ended with a grandiose concert where all the twelve delegations showed a small, vivid, and memorable show. Also, local famous Kyrgyz singer Omar and the dance group of kids Aalam led by Asel Sardari (AUCA graduate) surprised the visitors with amazing performances.

The long-awaited day of the Diversity Week - Food Day passed yesterday, January 30th. This is a unique opportunity to try the national cuisines of different ethnicities in one place, starting with Uzbek pilaf and ending with Brazil delicacies.

On January 20, President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov awarded state awards of the Kyrgyz Republic to people who made a significant contribution to the development of the country's socio-economical, intellectual and cultural potential, as well as for great achievements in scientific activities.

On December 19, 2019, the American University of Central Asia hosted the awarding ceremony of the 2019 Mary Schweitzer Scholarship for Excellence. The Selection Committee has chosen Azhar Kaltarbekova, the forth-year student of Anthropology Program, to be the winner.

On December 30, President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov signed a decree on awarding state awards of the Kyrgyz Republic. AUCA Professor of Anthropology Cholpon Turdalieva received the Honored Scientist of the Kyrgyz Republic award.

AUCA student Mira Dzhakshylykova was able to undergo a 2-week internship at the German Research Center for Earth Sciences (GFZ), in Potsdam, Germany
